PROJECT LOCATION

2 Edward St, Brisbane City

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Walter’s Steakhouse sits within the realms of Old Mineral House, an inner city Heritage listed building with soaring 4.5m ceilings and a timber structure supported by cast iron columns imported from the United Kingdom. The building envelope has a high level of Heritage significance and our clients’ brief was to build something that fitted within, and embraced the character of, the existing building. Something that looked like it could have been built 100 years ago with old world charm.
The result is a fitout that incorporates Iron bark timbers, aged mirrors, opulent upholstery and curtains, brass work, traditional tiles and polished joinery. Walter’s Bar and Restaurant is an intimate space for gatherings with marble bar tops, stunning sash windows and custom leather booths. It is a unique Brisbane Venue that exudes history and character and melts seamlessly into history of the exterior.
The kitchen to support this restaurant was to be world class and based on New York’s top steak restaurants, including cooking equipment that operated at approximately 450C and facilities for dry-aging.
